My husband and I knew from the moment that we met Heather that we wanted her to be our doula. She was an absolute godsend! This was our first baby and we were planning a home birth, so we wanted to make sure we had the support that we needed for a smooth and peaceful delivery. Heather has such a calming and motherly presence and she was a huge reason I made it so calmly through my intense and pretty fast labor. My husband was incredibly grateful for her support in labor too because this was all new to him. Heather was professional, peaceful, and so attentive. When things didn’t go as we had planned, Heather went above and beyond and was so kind to visit us after our baby was born. I tear up a little thinking about how much it meant to me having her check in with kind texts and stop in to see how we were doing. Having her warm presence there during labor and postpartum was one of the highlights of my journey to becoming a mom. I highly recommend Heather to anyone who tells me they’re looking for a doula!

"We knew from the first time we met Heather, that she was kind, calm, and knowledgeable, but her main focus was on helping us have the birth experience we desired. Heather was our greatest single source of encouragement and wisdom before, during, and after the birth of our son. Neither my husband or I work in the medical field, and we knew that we wanted a caring doula with us at the hospital to help explain things that were happening during the birth. We also wanted a doula to help with recommendations if our birth plan had to change to accommodate the safe delivery of our baby. I didn't want to be induced but my son showed signs of distress during a non-stress test, and I agreed to be induced so that his heart rate could be monitored and he could be born as soon as possible. Heather showed up and went right to work making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The labor process (and all the decisions that had to be made along the way) was overwhelming, confusing, and painful but Heather was a constant support, a voice of clarity and wisdom, and she helped us find ways to hold to as much of our birth plan as possible. Heather was consistently responsive to my needs (even all through the night) during the most difficult hours of contractions, and her help with pain management made it tolerable. She gave valuable input (at our request) when it was time to decide about a c-section, and she waited for us through the c-section so she could see our baby boy and help us get to our next location. I had great doctors and nurses, but Heather was an absolutely invaluable part of our birth team. I don't know how anyone goes through the birth process without a doula like Heather with them, even my doctors and nurses commented on how supportive she was. My husband and I were incredibly grateful for Heather and would recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional doula to be part of their birth team."

“Heather was such an amazing presence at the birth of my second son! I had a doula with my first and while she was good, we didn't feel the connection and support level we were looking for and wanted to find someone else for our second birth. Heather was referred by a friend and could not have been more perfect. She has the warmest, most welcoming and calming presence and is such a natural nurturer. She supported me via phone until we asked her to come to the hospital and once she arrive, my hubby and I could not have been more relieved and happy by having her there. She knew exactly what to do and say through every moment and I had the best, most calm and supported birth experience. My first birth was a little traumatizing and this experience was so healing! I would recommend Heather to anyone!”

“Heather was amazing! She was respectful, knowledgeable and thought of everything. She had great suggestions and knew just how to be involved in a way that was not overbearing but completely needed. She was also able to direct my husband in ways he could be involved that helped me. She truly made my birth a better experience for me and my husband.”

“She was absolutely amazing in both my pregnancy and birth. As a first time mom I was so scared and everything that I had planned going wrong in my head for labor pretty much happened. I was so scared to be induced but her knowledge and reassurance made me feel so much better. The day of my induction she answered the phone as soon as I needed her and came right up to the hospital within an hour. She helped me into positions I could still get into with the epidural and I went from 3 cm-10 cm within an hour. Pushing was the most terrifying part for me, and at one point when my daughters head was crowning, I almost passed out. She kept super calm, calmed me down and we got that baby out! She made sure I was breathing and understood everything that was happening and stayed in the hospital room with me until I could go into my recovery room. She was knowledgeable from beginning pregnancy until after birth! If anyone wants CALM in their pregnancy/birth and years of knowledge, she’s the one to go to!”

“Heather was the perfect doula for my family! With my first pregnancy, I was scared and had many questions. With her calming presence she would patiently explain everything to me. She also helped me stay calm during labor, get through contractions by putting pressure on my back, and helped me wait as long as I could before getting the epidural. Heather was incredible through out both of my pregnancies! I highly recommend her!”

HIGHLY recommend! Heather was amazing from beginning to birth to postpartum. She was always able to answer our questions and, more importantly, able to ease our nerves about the pregnancy and delivery process. She was with us every step of the way during our 36 hour delivery as well. You can tell when someone loves what they do, and Heather is genuinely passionate about mamas, babies and pregnancy!
